This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I ALWAYS encourage my K-2 students to share. Just not their germs! Classroom hygiene and sanitation are always one of my top priorities as a teacher. My mini mathematicians spend a great deal of time in our intervention space and unfortunately, so do their germs! Sanitizing wipes and a wet vac will help us cut down on the spread of harmful bacteria so we can focus on our math skills.
Daily cleaning and sanitation of our work space is of the utmost importance to ensure a thriving and healthy work environment for both me and my amazing mathematicians.
Last year was one of the worst flu seasons I have experienced as an educator. The amount of absences associated with influenza takes such a negative toll on a classroom setting. Germs spread like wildfire and it's like witnessing a row of dominoes fall once flu season strikes. Usually, students miss whole weeks of school at a time and this makes it so difficult for them to catch up on material they have missed while out sick.
