This is my third year teaching first grade after 12 years teaching 4th and 5th grade. I love how first graders are inquisitive and enthusiastic learners! Each day they come to school prepared to give 110%! Our classroom learning community values all diversity and celebrates each others' uniqueness.
Every child knows he/she is special and can explore their future career path in my classroom - the next great scientist, writer, engineer, or future entrepreneur's start might be right here in my classroom!
They are the future, so I hope to set them up for life long success!
My Project
My first graders love incorporating art into the classroom. We need some basic painting/drawing supplies (brushes, watercolor & tempera paints, oil pastels, and art paper) so that we can integrate art into our daily learning as well as for special classroom projects.
Whether it's painting the scene to a story we've read, painting shape poetry, drawing a picture of their pet to write about, or painting a companion piece to their Mother's Day letters, students will have a chance to foster their creativity and love of art while we also develop our literacy skills.
So many students spend time on screen devices, but aren't getting a chance to develop their artistic talents. With these supplies at our fingertips, I aim to change this.
