Help me give my students the opportunity to use a Q-Ball Throwable Microphone and wireless microphone in class to make Literacy and Stem activities fun and loud.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in East Los Angeles. Most of my students come from low-income families. My 5th grade class is composed of enthusiastic, hard working students who are eager to learn in different ways.
My students love the use of technology in reading, writing, science, and math.
They are very active and enjoy engaging in projects and activities that require lots of movement. They love to do research, read, solve mathematical problems and do hands-on-science experiments. Nonetheless, they enjoy using new tools in technology.
Implementing new and advanced technology will help them improve 21st century skills and allow them to be better prepared when speaking in public.
My Project
The QBall and wireless microphone will allow students' voices to be heard. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing them to engage in a fun and purposeful way when using technology.
Some of my students have soft spoken voices and at times it becomes difficult to hear their voice.
With these technological resources every students' voice can be acknowledge. All students can make meaningful contributions in class that can help others benefit in their learning. The wireless microphone can also be connected to an I-pad when students do readers theater. They can also read aloud stories with the use of microphones. Not only will the microphones be used during reading and discussions, but also in Science presentations and other math STEM activities.
Therefore, implementing these devices in class will encourage students to become more vocal and learn to communicate in all subjects more effectively.
