Help me give my students adventure and a love of reading. The books I'm requesting are relatable and will also introduce other cultures and experiences to my students.
My students are 4th graders who want to discover the world through reading. The past few years it has been difficult to experience the norms of the past. They are curious and full of excitement to learn.
Many of my students have been stuck at home unable to see the world around them.
Reading helps them to see things they've never had access to.
My Project
Covid 19 has closed many doors for students over the last several years; reading will help reopen many of those doors.
Novels help students build vocabulary, critically think and fosters imagination.
Students desperately need these skills especially after two years chaos in the learning process. Putting a book in every student's hand, many who have never completed any chapter book, is the beginning of reclaiming some of what they have missed out on during this pandemic.
These books will help build skills now, create an environment for them to learn to love reading and will do the same for all students who follow them in years to come.
