My artists range in age from 5 to 15 at one of Baltimore City's public turnaround schools.
I have found that many of them love art class because it is one of the few places where there is no wrong answer. Each day I am thankful for the opportunity to connect with my students, to learn more about their backgrounds and their goals for the future, through art.
My Project
The different mediums we work with appeal to different artists. Some prefer painting, while others would rather work with clay. However, there is one area that almost all students love to work on: drawing. Drawing truly is the "bones" of art, and we can never get enough sketch paper and basic drawing supplies. This proposal contains a wealth of drawing materials for all of my artists, and also includes a variety of "How-To Draw" books for early finishers.
