My Students
"My children" are uniquely made and walk into the classroom each morning with smiles and big hugs to share! When one of our friends is absent, we look forward to them returning to us as soon as possible! We work to create a family atmosphere, one that is comfortable, calm, and filled with joy. Our room of 5-6 year old boys and girls is always full of active exploration, creative expression, all forms of sensory experiences, and learning thru play.
My Project
The lighted surface of the light table draws the children in and enhances the learning process. It improves their observation skills by encouraging them to notice the subtle details on materials that are presented on the lighted surface. The light table will be used to enhance their literacy, writing, music, math, and writing skills, as well as spatial awareness, pattern, and color recognition. So excited to bring this into our classroom and experience the engaging learning with my students!
I believe that young children should have the opportunity to paint at an easel every day in our classroom!
Painting can help our children communicate their emotions or feelings. Their hand muscles are being used in a unique way, which allows them a scope to develop mentally and physically. Standing at an easel allows freedom of movement, so that the child can get close to the paining surface and also back far away to get an over-all impression of their work. Art helps young children to develop both gross and fine motor skills. As many children have been away from school the past year, being able to develop fine motor skills in our classrooms is very important...skills essential for hand-eye coordination, self-expression, creative confidence and imaginative ideas....most of ALL, it is fun, joyful, creative, and exciting! My children LOVE to paint at an easel, and having our own paints easily accessible for them to pump out on their own would greatly enhance their experience and joy!
