Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My high school students need a color printer for a new school newsletter. The digital camera would be used to capture examples of school spirit, sports events, and field trips. With the new spiffy color printer, all these events would be rendered more vividly in color.
During our Summer Bridge, several of our in-coming freshmen expressed an interest in forming a school newspaper. With freshmen students especially, you need to strike while the iron is hot before they get caught up in a daily routine.
Serving on a newsletter committee, would help these students develop writing, editing, collaborative, and design layout skills. Also by staying at school after hours, they are less likely to pulled down by outside influences. Another wonderful thing about this newsletter is that it would build a better sense of community within our high school. Students could see all the wonderful things happening at our campus.
Please help these students become more involved in school and also improve our level of school spirit.
