This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"I want to draw!"
"I want to be an artist."
It's my hope to fulfill their dreams!
Kindergarten students in Title 1 school, a dual language school.
They are so creative and artistic but do not have the tools to bring out their imagination due to lack of funding. Their parents do not have the ability to provide art lessons outside of school setting.
My Project
In my dual language class, using art and painting is a GREAT way to emerge my students into learning Mandarin. These painting materials will help them apply their knowledge of the new language as they apply vocabulary such as the names of the color and the ways of using them.
Research has proven that art, music, and second language foster brain development.
With these art supplies, I will be able to offer my students the opportunity to play with language, explore imagination, and build confidence through joy.
