My students need 7 collections of books, nonfiction, best for boys, best for girls, etc., to have a diverse classroom library and one which challenges them to strive to become better readers.

My Students

My students are voracious readers and have managed to chew through most of my library thus far this school year! I need to satiate their appetites and let them read books!

My students attend of Magnet School of Choice in an urban setting in North Carolina.

They come from all walks of life and from a variety of diverse backgrounds. They all, however, come to school eager to learn and are especially fond of reading this year. My students read on levels from 2nd grade up through (and beyond) high school.

My Project

The classroom library I currently have is vast and quite diverse, but still doesn't seem to be enough to satiate the readers in the grade. Given the importance we place on reading as an academic and life skill, I want to encourage these students by giving them as much of an endless supply of texts as I can! These texts will add to my current collection in many ways: they are challenging, they are award winning, they are engaging. I want all my students to benefit from having such rich literature around them.

Reading can be very enriching and my students clearly know this; they have consumed most of my texts already!

Adding these texts to my library now will not only help these students, but students in future classes. Thank you for considering this project!
