My Project
I would like to grow as a reading teacher so that every one of my students has the opportunity to become a lifelong reader. I would like the UFLI Foundations book to teach my second graders to read. This is highly recommended for teachers who would like to learn more about the science of reading and implement the lessons. It will allow me to teach phonics skills with a multi-sensory approach.
Explicit teaching of reading skills leads to improvement in students’ reading, spelling, and writing.
UFLI Foundations focuses on sounds in words. It is a science-based approach to teaching reading. This curriculum would help my students with disabilities and my English learners. I would love to strengthen my skills as a reading teacher through this wonderful, science-based curriculum. I would also like the alphabet puzzles to model segmenting and blending words in a fun, hands-on way. Thank you for your support!
