This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I’m a new Spanish high school teacher this year, my students have gone through several Spanish teachers for the past couple of years. I came during the second semester with a completely bare classroom, lacking many things the students need to be able to do the basic functions of running the classroom. The posters will be used to decorate the walls, the drawers and stackable paper bins will be used to put papers for each of my 8 periods separately. The post-it notes, hole punch, markers, and colors will be used for daily creative work, The notebooks, paper, stapler, and pencil sharpener they use every day to turn in work to me. The binders, pens, and desk organizer will go to my desk to keep lesson plans in order. The office chair will be used for extra seating when I am testing students one-on-one they sit next to me. My students are very special and learned to translate simultaneously in only one semester. They are ready to learn and they come to Spanish class with a great attitude. It would be greatly beneficial for our class to start our new school year with a better setup, I’m confident that will reflect on the learning experience of my students.
