Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 1st graders are quite the little learners and readers. They like to have a place where they can sit and have some quiet time reading. They also like to share what they are reading with their friends.

They also enjoy partnering up with a friend to buddy read.

Some of my students are good readers and some are just learning how to read. Those who are good readers like to help their friends sound out words. They are very helpful.

My Project

I am a first time teacher and I want to be able to give my students a quiet and comfortable space where they can read and let their imagination run wild. My students will be able to pick books and their choice of seating and go to a quiet area where they will not have any interruptions.

Independent reading is an important part of learning and it will be an important part of our reading centers.

By giving my students all the necessary supplies, my students will be excited to be independent readers.
