This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Let the masterpieces dry! Famous illustrators discovered their talent already in the primary grades. We have talent and we would like to publish funny, inspiring, informing, and interesting books with beautiful illustrations!

My first grade classroom of this very green school is located in a tiny SMALL room, but there are BIG artists around! As serving the whole child is part of our philosophy, we read books, do Math and...make Art! We studied many books of famous authors and illustrators and try to make big books ourselves. Unfortunately, the classroom does not have any space to dry our masterpieces! Many pieces have ended up crumbled or damaged when they were placed in the hallway. This is truly unfortunate because there are many great artists in the class. The work is beautiful, and it helps us to make big books that will be best sellers!

The students and I would like to work with watercolors so we can use several techniques. The most important resource is the spring loaded drying rack. With the rack, we will be able to dry our work nice and neatly in the corner of the classroom while we work on the text of our big books.

You will make it possible for my students to make awesome big books about topics that inspire the students with beautiful illustrations, and you'll help to keep our classroom organized so we can focus on the lessons!
