This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our third graders are on their way to becoming multilingual, multiliterate, and multicultural global ambassadors. Each year our students are coming into third grade eager to learn and up for any challenge. They are independent, comedic storytellers, understand fairness and most importantly, they will work hard if you show them you believe they can do it.

When people ask me what I do for a living, I proudly announce, “I teach third grade!” This grade is a very important time in a students education, because it’s when they transition from “lower grades” to the “upper grades.” It is a crucial period in students’ learning as they become more independent and mature learners.

I am excited to teach my 3rd graders this year. With everything they will learn this year they will progress from practicing basic skills to mastering them, and move on to develop more complex skills.

My Project

Physical Education is an integral part of a students total education process here at Bostonia Language Academy. My focus this year in physical education is to prepare and motivate all students to engage in activities, which promote health and physical well being. Physical Education is that phase of the general education program that contributes to the total growth and development of each child primarily through movement experiences.

The physical education items I am requesting will help students become competent in a variety of motor skills and movements.

Students will experience a broad variety of movement activities and develop an understanding of movement principles, which include body awareness, space awareness, and qualities of movement. My hope is that by obtaining these items students will want to participate more in physical education, and enjoy being active, learn important fitness concepts, develop good social skills, and maintain a positive self-concept.
