This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach second grade in a Title I school. My students are at or below poverty level living in a suburb of Los Angeles, California. All of my students qualify for a free breakfast and lunch. My class consists of 10 amazing girls and 12 "ready to go" boys. They enjoy being challenged academically and physically every day. They are in the Limited English Proficiency program levels 1 and 2. My students are creative, inquisitive, hard working, and eager to learn about the world around them, as well as themselves. In our online classes my students work in a whole group during synchronous time and independently during asynchronous times.
They encourage each other to grow and explore their wonderful world of learning.
My Project
Back in March we moved to Online Learning. Since then my students and I have been getting creative to keep the teaching/learning going. The Apple Pencil will be a wonderful resource for my teaching because it will open up new creative possibilities in all subject areas.
I will be able to model problem solving during math, teach phonics during ELA, model compare and contrasting using a Venn Diagram and much more.
Also, please help me get ink for our printer. I use the printer every day to print materials that enhance my teaching.
