Let Our True Colors Shine Through - Stage Makeup Part 2
My students need a set of theatrical makeup kits for fair skinned Asian, Latino, and Caucasian students and Lumiere Grande Colour Palette for fantasy makeup.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help provide our diverse drama club with stage makeup that matches their skin tones!
I teach middle school drama / speech grades 6 - 8.
Our title I school district is in a high-risk community where most of students are minority and low-income. Though our students struggle at times to succeed, they are passionate, imaginative kids who deserve the chance to experience a creative learning environment. Our theatre department is fully of diversity. Over 60 actors and 40 crew will participate in our plays every year. The ethnic makeup of our group is mix of Latino, Caucasian, African American and Asian.
My Project
We perform a wide variety of quality plays that require makeup effects to create different ages and fantasy characters. Unfortunately we don't have a diverse enough makeup collection for our children. In order to create these magical characters, we need a collection of theatrical makeup that matched the skin tones of all our children. With these kits, all of our children will be able to find the colors that best suit them.
With makeup kits that match our students skin tones and effects makeup, our students can create more realistic characters and help all of our theater students to shine on the stage.
