Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a unique urban school. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. I teach students kindergarten through fifth grade, and many of them have individual needs that do not allow them to attend a traditional school on a daily basis.
Many of my students have emotional and social issues, frequent medical treatments, safety concerns, difficulty in a traditional school setting and/or are homeless.
My students each face their own challenges every day outside of school. Some are grade levels behind and others are grade levels ahead.
My Project
This project will help me create a virtual classroom that will fit the various needs of my students. I will be able to create color-coded notes and lessons for visual learners as well as provide instant positive feedback with reward icons (stars, smiley face, etc), my students. "One size fits all" does not work with all students. Some students need a modified lesson explanation, some want to see answers to their questions written in real-time, some need to see immediate written feedback. An iPad and Apple pencil will allow that.
