Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My teaching partner and I work in a dual immersion program
(Spanish/English) and we are finding that when we create small groups, where students can collaborate, our students are more eager to listen, work and engage in learning.
Four years ago we began to create a more relaxed environment, removing individual desks and creating more collabrative group areas. The materials we are asking for are to be used in two separate classrooms ( English and Spanish classroom). These flexible seating options and tables will allow our students to choose where and how they what to sit, listen, work and learn. The idea is that students know how they sit best helping them to learn best and allowing them to make those choices themselves.
