Help me give my students access to literature they can make connections with!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Kennedy's classroom raised $211
This project is fully funded
My Students
My kids come from a place where they have received very limited resources at home, and unfortunately at school too. They are not given the materials that are necessary for them to develop their minds to the full potential. These children are so talented and special, and just need to receive equitable opportunity that other schools get to reach their full potential.
We are working day in and day out to show these kids that they can learn and they will succeed!
My Project
Literature is so important in an elementary school classroom. The pictures and lessons books can teach will stay in the students' minds longer than any lesson you teach.
This literature will reach students for more than just one read, it will transcend into their daily life!
Do you still remember some of your favorite books as kids? So do I! Finding books that students can connect with is so important. These books that I have chosen will help with mindfulness, self regulation, and spreading kindness. Not only will these books help with all of that, but some of them will bring in more diversity into my classroom library. After I do a read aloud of books in class, the students love to go back and read them again during independent reading time.
