My Project
Often, traditional maker space items are not safe for our students, so we need to create a safe space to allow them to participate in this opportunity while in the library. This table will allow us to work in a group to build together and play together safely.
These trays will offer a malleable and safe place to build and store blocks and LEGO safely.
Many of our students struggle with manual dexterity and larger blocks will help them build and create while socializing with peers and taking turns.
These items will also allow students to participate in sensory activities that will help us practice our self-soothing skills and social skills. Sharing is an important part of social play: these items will help us practice and develop those skills.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
