My students need to learn how to build a robot using the brick and write algorithms to program the robot to perform tasks. Computer science is engaging and promotes problem solving and critical thinking.

My Students
Our students come from diverse backgrounds. We currently have a number of students that are new to the country and speak limited English, if any. The students are eager to learn and experience things. We are currently starting to promote Computer Science for All and are in need of supplies. The students are excited to begin this adventure. Although our students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, most are eager to learn and try new things. They enjoy thinking out of the box and being challenged.
My Project
These materials will be used to integrate STEM into the classroom. Students of all learning abilities will be able to to benefit from the hands-on applications this product will provide. Students will integrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics into fun Common Core aligned projects.
I believe that "students learn best by doing" and that "we learn more from our failures then our successes".
EV3s motivate students to problem solve. Students will be able to go beyond with this product because they have the ability to engineer their own robot outside of the starter robots that are included. Students will also experience STEM in a real world application instead of through worksheets or textbooks.
