Let Every Voice Be Heard...with the QBall Wireless Microphone!
My students need their voices to always be heard...loudly, clearly, and by everyone no matter where they are in the classroom! Using a Qball wireless microphone ball makes classroom participation fun and exciting.
My elementary school serves 1st-3rd graders. A huge passion of mine has always been around classroom climate. My class of third graders arrive at school every day, and are given a hug at the door and the greeting, "Welcome home"!
I train and expect my students to be independent, hard-working, and cooperative learners focused on setting and reaching their own individual goals.
I offer a variety of seating options including: ergonomic stools, exercise balls, traditional chairs and cushioned benches to sit on every day.
In my classroom I opt to not use overhead fluorescent lighting. Instead I have provided over 30 lamps throughout the classroom to foster a more relaxing environment for learning.
We listen to classical music during our independent work times in the background.
Consistency is key. My students know they are safe, loved, and valued. We are family.
My Project
The Qball will make classroom participation fun and exciting! It is designed to work with my school district's existing classroom audio system. The Qball is a durable, portable and even throwable microphone. It is made of a light, soft, and lasting foam, designed to take a beating. The microphone automatically shuts off while in flight so you don't get any unwanted thumps or bumps over the speakers.
Overarching rule: if you have the Qball, then you have the floor.
When my students are talking, reading, sharing and/or explaining, I want them to be heard by everyone. The Qball will help manage classroom discussions, ensuring the student with the Qball is the only student talking.
With the Qball, students not only want to participate, but they actually learn more when everyone can hear what the teacher and their fellow students are saying.
I believe that by boosting my students' desire to participate in class discussions, I will create confident, self-assured and fearless public speakers in the future.
