This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in the neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen in NYC. I have students from various backgrounds, home situations, and income levels. The majority of my students do live below the poverty line and many aspire to be the first in their families to attend college.
My students are passionate, unique individuals who come to our school to be engaged with real-life challenges and issues that are integrated into every area of the curriculum.
All students who attend our school have an interest in business, entrepreneurship, communication, technology, and sports.
My Project
As a Special Education teacher for students in English and Global History classes, I spend hours each week reviewing and modifying lessons created by general education teachers. I would love to be able to access lessons that are already modified to share with teachers and students to be able to focus more on helping students individually. Having access to lessons on the Teachers Pay Teachers site could possibly cut down on my planning time to focus more on student outreach to help students struggling with remote learning during this school year.
