This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Math class should be fun; and all students should develop positive identities as thinkers and learners. Providing students individual reusable surface space will cut down on the number of paper copies made per student.
One characteristic of a powerful learning environments is giving student equal opportunity to participate in meaningful conversations about the content.
Mini-individual whiteboards will give students opportunities to "walk the walk and talk the talk," build on each others thinking and providing more ways to engage.
Students will use the mini-white boards to showcase their rough draft thinking to their peers; with the feature of erasability more students will be willing to showcase ideas as they are engaging in the "productive struggle" of math tasks.
