My Students
My school is a special place because it is one of the most diverse schools in our school district. Our school mission revolves around accepting diversity! We have used sports to connect our students and have committed to being a healthy campus. In recent months, we have been challenged as a school and community, due to the budget crisis. Although we have been able to use creativity in our curriculum we are in desperate need of teaching resources.
The low-income students we have at our school have many challenges outside of school that make the chance for an equal opportunity even more of a vital necessity.
We are now in a scramble to find equipment that intrigues kids to stay healthy! Accommodating our large number of students has become even more of an untouchable situation because of our lack of resources. Through this tough situation we have stuck together and managed to create a limited learning environment, but need the community's help!
My Project
Projects and creating a curriculum that can intrigue these low-income students to exercise are vital for their mental health. We know already that exercise develops skills and increases strengths in motor skills, but for young less fortunate students, their mental health is critical. The exercise equipment will help us create unique ways to exercise and allow us resources to stream via the internet to the student that is still virtual. Having to teach both in-person and virtual students is a challenge, but with creative ways to teach mechanics of movements that work specific muscles, we can benefit more students! Please help us complete our mission!
