My school’s STEAM Academy places an emphasis on teaching its students that anything is possible! In order to develop tomorrow's problem solvers, we work diligently to ensure that our youngest students will build a strong foundation as readers. Teaching our students in small groups allows us to target and support individual needs. Dedicated time is planned during the day for Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students to receive targeted intervention. This intervention is delivered by campus Reading Specialists in rooms other than the student's homeroom.
As we transition back to school from our on line learning, we are striving to provide a safe learning environment for all of our students.
Students who receive small group reading support will need a safe place to store their materials. It is our intention to keep every student's individual learning materials separate and safe!
My Project
My school is planning a safe transition back to the classroom! We are very excited to see our students and having a safe return to in person learning is our goal. Reading Specialists service many small groups of students during the school day. Different groups of students will be entering our rooms throughout the day. We will have time to sanitize learning spaces and provide social distancing through room set up.
Help is needed however, to insure the materials students use daily will only be touched by them.
The storage bins and bookcase will provide a safe way to accomplish this goal. Each student will have their own labeled bin and an identified place to store it.
Bins will store each student's materials, ensuring that notebooks, books, writing journals, white boards, writing instruments and more, will only be handled by the student using them! Support for this project is greatly appreciated!
