Help me give my students a How to Catch a Leprechaun book and Times Table to understand and experience the beautiful Irish culture and learn math is all around us.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work with wonderful 2nd graders who are bilingual (Spanish)scholars. They are very curious learners who love to ask non stop questions which interest their mind. My scholars love to express themselves through debate in class. They are very excited learning math, as math is their favorite subject.
Students in my classroom are very independent and unique in their own special way, They always want to share their experiences with their peers , which includes showing their empathy and sympathy to all of their friend
My Project
The book The Little Leprechaun will be used for helping my students increase their vocabulary and fluency skills. The rest of the supplies will be used towards improving their math skills like adding coins, answering questions about graphs, expanded form, addition and subtraction. I will like my students to experience and learn about a different culture . This will be a great experience as my students only had an exposure to their Spanish culture. This would also teach them about how we are different but at the same time have so many things in common.
