Help me give my students reading and writing books for extra practice at home.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. W.'s classroom raised $370
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a public school in the Bronx. The neighborhood can be described as a low-income area.
Despite the economic hardships faced by many of the families, I work with a wonderful group of 18 first grade students.
My Project
This project will allow students an opportunity to build their sight word fluency by reading books at home. Students will also practice writing in their journals as they draw and write in fiction and nonfiction genres.
Students will benefit from extra reading and writing practice at home with a lending library system.
Recovering from the pandemic will mean extra resources are needed at home to get my students back on track. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. My students are so eager to learn.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
