My Students

I work with the best group of students. They don't have much, but they come to school every day for a good meal, a safe environment, and ready to learn in our rural Title I school. I have to meet basic human needs and then begin to teach and help these students turn their can'ts into cans. We have a little over 400 students in our school, and each and every one is special and valuable and important. No matter how dirty, hungry, or uncertain they come, I greet each child with a new opportunity each day.

My Project

Students use headphones multiple times a day. Students have lessons online for reading, math, science, social studies, and language arts. Some students bring the required earbuds on the supply list but most do not. Even those who do have the earbuds find them uncomfortable.

New headphones will help all students be able to adequately hear the instructions on their lessons.

This is pertinent to their success. I can't hold them accountable for understanding material that they cannot hear.

I want to have comfortable headphones available in the classrooms for all students to be able to use.
