I am a middle school band teacher. My students love to play in the band. Our school is in a high-need community and is also a Title One school.
All middle school bands need a few tenor saxophones. Our band currently owns one. Our band is growing in members and to create a good balance of sound, we need to add another tenor to the group. Unfortunately, there isn't money in the budget for such an expensive piece of equipment. I have quite a few students that would make excellent tenor sax players, if only they had an instrument to play.
I need one tenor saxophone to add to our middle school band. I've added many new band members to the program this year and our sound is a little out of balance. We need more of the middle layer of music. Providing my band with a tenor saxophone will help even out the balance of sound. My entire band program will benefit from this instrument. It will also allow for another student to be a part of the band program.
You will make it possible for my band to have a balanced sound. With the addition of some new clarinet, flute and trumpet players, this tenor sax will even out the sound of our group. Your help will ensure that my band students continue to have an understanding of proper balance in an ensemble.
