My students need these Lego materials in order to enrich our STEM and Math activities.
This project expired on April 29, 2017.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I absolutely love the energy and creativity that my ten year old students bring into our classroom every single day. They are full of passion, they love to learn, and they love coming to school. My students come to school from all backgrounds, all cultures, and from all family situations.
My students are energetic fourth graders.
We become a family throughout the year, supporting each other through the good times and challenges, and help each other to master the standards while still making learning fun.
Do you remember the joy of playing with Legos? In the classroom, they can be used for many different educational purposes, besides the rainy day recess activity. Unfortunately, these materials are not readily available in a class set on a teacher's budget. These Lego bricks and baseplates will allow my students to create structures that will tie into many different subject areas.
Hands on STEM and Math activities bring the curriculum to life.
In Math, the blocks can be used to reinforce Arrays and Factors by using the studs to create rectangles. We can also use them to teach Area and Perimeter. For Fractions, the blocks can help us determine Parts of a Whole, and show Equivalent Fractions. It would be wonderful to use the blocks for STEM projects too - students can construct and engineer designs. These Legos would make a huge impact in my classroom.
