Help me give my students activities that do not include a screen. Legos are a wonderful creative way to interact with classmates and allow them to use their hands and imagination!
I have the BEST group of 29 students this year and I want to give them all the tools and things they need to succeed academically and socially. I have such a variety of students ranging from high academic to well below grade level. I have many ELL students, and students from low income homes. I have taught second grade for twenty years and this year, more than ever, my students need to connect socially and emotionally with others. I also want to provide an enjoyable, safe and exciting environment for them. Enriching my classroom with the items I have requested, will help me provide the environment I want for my students. Having Legos in class, to use as a STEM center, will allow my students to develop ingenuity and creativity, practice cooperative learning and develop their social, emotional and communication skills.

Technology is so important but creativity and cooperative learning is also important. I want to provide both for my students. Lego also help to develop social and communication skills.
Books have such an impact on student's learning.
My students love to read and also listen to stories. The books and additional items I have requested, will help stock my classroom with essentials. Having a few snacks on hand for hungry students is always a must.
