it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are just beginning their lifelong learning adventure when they enter my classroom. Some have experienced a PreK setting and some have not. These students, at 5 and 6 years old, are learning the skills needed to become successful in their future. About a third of our school qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch. The skills they learn in my classroom will build the foundation they need to succeed in various parts of their lives. Self-regulation and social learning are a large part of the early childhood classroom and an area I focus on. These students are bright, inquisitive, caring, and growing every day.
My Project
Children have a natural curiosity about things and Legos are one of the most versatile and engaging toys I've found, allowing them to explore and grow.
Legos allow children to use their imagination and create a world all their own.
Building with Legos teaches many things that young children have a hard time learning through other ways; such as, critical thinking, problem solving, perseverance, persistence and patience.
Playing with Legos also teaches young children about turn taking and sharing. It allows them to engage with peers and use their imagination in a way many other toys do not foster. Legos can also be used in instruction. Math, science, reading, art; these building blocks can be used in any subject by the teacher or as a hands on learning experience.
