My Students

The students at our school are amazing! They come into the classroom excited to learn and become involved in whatever topic that is in the plan. We have wonderful support from our parents. We have a very diverse population of students, culturally, economically, and with different learning abilities. It has become my goal to try and stay ahead of them!

Our third grade team is challenging our students to work independently and take charge of their learning.

This is a learning concept in itself, and we are guiding them along the way.

Our students are working hard to create a solid base of education. They appreciate what they have now, and they are learning to use their knowledge to take control of their education. We love to see their excitement grow as they are introduced to new information.

My Project

Student learning will be created by adding LEGOS in math, science and even brain breaks. Using LEGOS will help them visualize the more different abstract math concepts. Manipulative materials are a wonderful way to challenge students with problem solving, critical thinking skills, and creativity while they are having fun.

By providing our students with hands-on opportunities, we are helping the students construct their own knowledge.

What better way than with building blocks?

As students are learning new concepts, reviewing previous concepts, or just being creative, they can use the LEGO experience to show what they know and what they still need to learn. LEGOS can be used for more than just practicing fractions in math! They will be able to use the building blocks to apply real-world answers to real-world problems. Students will be able to use the LEGOS in other areas as well: building their own Colosseum in Rome, perhaps! Students can use the blocks to create sets to go along with stories we read in class.

LEGOS will provide the students with the ability to work on creativity, sharing with classmates, practicing teamwork and communication. Students love LEGOS, so they might as well do what they love while they learn!
