My students need LEGO WeDo kits. The easy to use construction sets introduce young students to robotics. Students will be able to build LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors and then program their models.

My Students
Our students come from diverse backgrounds. We currently have a number of students that are new to the country and speak limited English, if any. The students are eager to learn and experience things. We are currently starting to promote Computer Science for All and are in need of supplies. The students are excited to begin this adventure. Although our students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, most are eager to learn and try new things. They enjoy thinking out of the box and being challenged.
My Project
Computer Science is a big push right now. We are learning how to program different games and robots using simple language such as Blockly, to harder language like Java Script. LEGO WeGo will capture the students' attention and keep them motivated and engaged. The students will be able to transfer their prior knowledge of building with blocks, as well as their newly attained knowledge of coding to bring their LEGO models to life! Students will be able to work in small groups, create models, and then program the models to carry out certain tasks! It will be a great way to collaborate and extend their knowledge.
