My students need a Lego wall outside of our makerspace to create marble runs and other engineering and scientific projects. All we need are the baseplates to build it.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Loundy's classroom raised $741

My Students
Not every student learns in exactly the same way. For many, building a project opens their imaginations and builds their self-esteem. That's what our makerspace is all about.
We're a Title I school.
That means that many of our students are receiving federal aid to pay for their lunches. But all of them love to learn and we love teaching them. There is nothing better than seeing the light of knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm illuminate in their eyes.
My Project
The Lego baseplates will be used as raw materials for a student-led project to build a Lego wall outside of our campus makerspace. Students will be able to explore gravity, engineering and problem solving with projects that they construct on the wall. It will be a resource available to all of our students from TK to 5th grade.
The Lego wall will be part of an integrated progressive educational environment.
In other words, the kids will think it's cool and they'll play with it. Learning will ensue. It will be primarily self-directed, so students will "own" the learning process. Nothing promotes engagement more than than students working for themselves and their own passions.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
