My Students

I teach an energetic group of 6th graders who love to learn. We are at a charter school where all students are known and cared for. We live in a diverse neighborhood and our school reflects that as we have a high population of English language learners.

It is my goal for all of my students to succeed no matter what struggles they go through.

We are currently working with the students half at home and half at school. I am constantly looking for new ways for my students to interact with technology in new ways.

My Project

I have been a robotics coach for several years now and I love how it sparks learning through problem solving. It is so much fun to build and design a robot; it is even more fun to program that same robot to affect the real world.

LEGO Spike is the latest robot from Lego and it is designed for education.

My classroom already has a supply of Lego that will work seamlessly with this new robot. Students will be able to explore new ways to solve problems with different supplies. This will help students to have joy in problem solving.
