My students love hands-on learning and gaining background knowledge into the world around them. They enjoy creating and feel a sense of personal pride in the things they make!
Every year, I tell my students that they are hand-selected to be in my classroom because only the best and brightest are allowed to walk through my door.
Every child needs at least one person in their life who they know believes in everything they do... and that person is me for the one hundred and eighty days that I call them my kiddos.
My Project
Three years ago after attending a technology workshop with a fellow teacher, we both fell in love with the fact of beginning an afterschool Lego Robotics club for our high poverty students. We wanted to provide them with an opportunity that other schools/students were getting to experience. We took the idea back to our principal and luckily there was a little bit of money available in our budget to get this club started.
However, the new kits are updated and provide students with the opportunity to build even more challenging robots!
I would love to provide the students at our school with the opportunity to experience building these new robots! Please consider helping us update our Lego Robotic materials with these new kits that would provide our students with new challenges regarding math, science, and peer collaboration. Legos are a great way to teach math skills, build vocabulary, understand science and technology concepts, and teach team building skills!
