This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At H.R. Elementary, our LEGO Robotics team, is thriving! This year, due to overwhelming student interest, we hope to expand our program by adding a second team to compete in the county robotics competition but we need your help.

We are requesting a LEGO Robotics kit, which will provide our students with hands-on experience in coding, engineering, and problem-solving.

With an additional kit, more students will have the opportunity to collaborate, design, and innovate as they build and program robots to complete real-world challenges. This project will foster teamwork, critical thinking, and STEM skills in all essential for their future success.

Our goal is to increase access to STEM learning opportunities for all students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. Many of our students have never had the chance to engage with robotics before, and this program gives them the confidence to see themselves as future engineers, programmers, and problem-solvers.

What makes our students special? They are creative, hardworking, and eager to learn. As part of a dual-language magnet school, they already embrace challenges, think globally, and develop strong communication skills in both English and Spanish. By participating in LEGO Robotics, they not only strengthen their STEM abilities but also learn perseverance, collaboration, and leadership skills that will serve them well in any career.
