This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are second graders from a high poverty school. Our students are very inquisitive and love science, math, reading and hands-on and fast-paced projects; however, funds are limited. We are looking to expand our creative writing resources.
My students need Lego minifigures so that they can create stories, and then movies with their people.
Exposing them to various creative outputs and technologies that are available while they are at school will help them in the future when they encounter new things. I strive to get my students to work creatively and collaboratively, and using Legos for storytelling does this.
My Project
These Lego minifigures will be used in combination with the Legos that we already have. Students will use these in combination with our Lego Story Starter software to write their stories involving the minifigures, and then create a movie using the software.
Students need a create way to tell their stories, and using Lego minifigures and Story Starter software is a great way to allow them to write and use technology at the same time.
Many students have great ideas, they just need help to find a way to get their ideas out and share their ideas with the world!
