I teach STEAM to some of the most creative, curious, and innovative students. All of my students are on free lunches. Outside of school, most of the students' lives are affected by the injustice of poverty. My goal is to provide tech experiences to our students to promote 21st century learning and skills with STEAM.
My students are very innovative and creative individuals.
Students in our district often have limited technology experience. My students will begin to discover and cultivate their creativity as they begin to apply their unique gifts and talents and allow them to become the innovators and global leaders of tomorrow with the stories they will be able to create and tell.
As a STEAM teacher in a K-8 school, I make every effort to expose my students to innovation, creativity and learning. My students love to build and create. LEGOs will embellish their creativity and story creation abilities to be leaders of innovation.
Coding, design, and engineering are some of the fastest growing jobs and my students are ready to start creating!
We are in the process of creating a STEAM led K-2 classroom where students will not only learn creativity, but also coding, innovation and engineering. STEAM with LEGO Minifigures is perfect for introducing STEM to K-2 students. LEGOs will increase my students' creative thinking skills. Using minifigures give students' stories and creations a narrative. My students will be required to work in small groups increasing their social skills and abilities to work together. It will make learning meaningful for them as they accomplish these projects.
