Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal through this project is to share my love of Lego with my students. I am a first-grade teacher at a Title 1 school in Immokalee, Florida. The students at my school come from low-income households and do not have many of the same opportunities as other students. As a part of our school’s Leader in Me initiatives each staff member chooses a leadership team to run. This is an opportunity for staff to share their passions with students and provide students with new experiences. This year, I want to continue my Leading with Lego team, but I need your help to do that. Lego sets can be very expensive for me to purchase on my own.

Lego building will allow my students to embrace their creativity and learn leadership skills along the way.

Students will learn to work collaboratively with others, use their Lego projects to enhance our school environment, and celebrate the greatness of others. Any support to this project is greatly appreciated by my students and myself.
