My Students
Classrooms need to incorporate different styles of learning to meet the needs of students. Lego blocks will allow for creative, critical thinking using spatial visual modes of learning.
My school has a diverse group of learners.
There are families from different socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as ethnic backgrounds. Some children are ESL, and may not have parents at home that speak English. Lego blocks will provide a hands on connection to learning. Education is important for all children, and exciting, engaging learning experiences with lego blocks will benefit learning.
My Project
A table filled with multicolored blocks and a project plan to build a pyramid, or the Great Wall in China, or a city with the legos. How engaging is that? While the students are building they will be improving content vocabulary and communication skills. Making as many connections to learning for the student allows for deeper understanding. A student who has difficulty understanding concepts may understand while working in collaborative groups designing a project with lego blocks.
I want my students to be ready for their futures.
They are the future engineers, scientist, artists, and problem solvers. Having a class set of legos will allow for engaging connections to learning, and creative thinking. I am excited thinking of the possibilities.
