Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Technical theatre is a unique space where students can learn both hard and transferrable skills. In my classroom, I hope to teach them the basics of set and prop design through Lego construction.

Through this activity, students will get to practice additional transferrable skills like communication, teamwork, time management and organization.

While completing challenges to recreate images of Lego sets, real sets, and props with these Lego sets students will have the stakes lowered and tap into a little peace of their childhood.

It is the goal that feeling like they are "playing" while creating, will allow them to build these skills at a higher level and allow them to draw connections to our future more complicated building tasks.
