My Project
These LEGO would support the creation of our Maker Space for our students at SCDJJ. This would allow students to build, create, and explore STEM fields they may not have previously considered. The goal of this project is to support students within our facility who have been incarcerated for over 180 days in utilizing their time and exploring new career paths through building and learning. LEGO, along with the other materials requested for our Maker Space, would help students explore engineering and science and get them excited about career possibilities after incarceration. This project also will be supportive of students' mental health because it will allow them something productive and fun to do while they are incarcerated.
