LEGO for History: Displaying Movements, Scenes, and Events with LEGO

My students need LEGO bricks and a set of LEGO Historic Minifigures to have more ways of expressing their knowledge of history by creating different scenes, ideas, and movements.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school in North Philadelphia. We are a charter school that is trying to specialize in the arts. For this reason, I am trying to get more art supplies into my History classroom to allow more hands-on projects for my students. They are very creative and love history, so I want to give them as many artistic outlets as possible to enhance their learning. Anything will help to get our kids the supplies they deserve.

My Project

I want to have my students create different aspects of history using LEGO. They have created awesome projects using paper and posters and pipe cleaners, but I want to expand their abilities and help them tap into their inner artists through a history lens. We need LEGO bricks and a set of LEGO Historic Minifigures.

I have pictures of what my students have created on past projects, and I want to see how far we can go with their expressive abilities.

I hope to engage more students and have more students love coming to school because they will have multiple outlets to learn and multiple ways that they can express their knowledge in the classroom.
