My students need a lot of love, care and support from teachers. Our school is in a poverty-stricken area, where many students do not have the necessary supplies or tools they need to succeed. Building a warm, safe, inviting classroom community and the environment is so important for my students.
My students are kind, caring and ready to learn.
They are continuing to learn how to best communicate with friends and prevent bullying in our classroom. Classroom community is still something we are continuing to build throughout the year, not just in our class, but school-wide. We also strive to provide differentiated, culturally-responsive instruction and need more resources to do that.
My Project
My students need LEGO bricks to help give them a means for play, creativity, and building STEM skills.
We have little play based materials in the room, and these LEGO bricks will serve as tools in our curriculum.
The simple machines pack will help us learn about building machines in science, and the community and creative set will help us use LEGO bricks to tell and write stories in ELA and social studies. Lastly, the LEGO boards will serve as a means for creating ten frames and number bonds in mathematics.
Please consider donating to help foster our sense of creativity and wonder!
