Lefties Unite!! Left-Handed Guitars for a Music Classroom!
Help me give my students left-handed guitars to make them feel included in a music classroom and maybe become the next McCartney or Hendrix!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When a student tells you as a music teacher they are left-handed, there are a couple of options you can choose from. The easiest way is to make the left-handed student play the guitar with the right hand just like a flute, trumpet, and many other traditional band instruments players do. However, the majority of the time in a general music classroom, students are not electing to participate in the program. Instead, they are following their daily class schedule. Why should they be forced to do something that is unnatural for them when they did not choose to be there in the first place?
There are many famous musicians that learned how to play guitars left-handed such as Jimi Hendrix.
By limiting this for these students, I could possibly be turning off a student who has the potential to be great! Instead of forcing my students, I would love to give the students the option to have a left-handed guitar in class to use. This project is giving the students the option to choose what they would prefer to play.
