Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Thinkers. Inquirers. Communicators. My third grade students attend a school located in a large urban low socioeconomic community. All students receive free breakfast and lunch. They enter my classroom with the energy and enthusiasm to learn, through research, reading, and writing.
My eight and nine-year-old students are curious language learners with diverse abilities.
As they learn to communicate their ideas through writing and researching their inquiries using technology, they are limited to printing and sharing their work. My students persevere in many ways, but they need your support to access the adequate tools to have an imprint of their learning.
My Project
The all in one laser printer will be used every day in class. My students use technology to research the topics of study throughout the week and take notes on their findings to create their draft for their projects. As they follow the writing process, they revise, edit, and peer conference their work. After they type their work, with your donation, all students will be able to print their published writing along with the vibrant colorful images they select to match their writing. They will use the all in one laser printer to finalize their piece of evidence that makes them great communicators. With the implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Standards, students will be inspired to want to complete their tasks and present them in class to their peers. Having an all in one laser printer and toners will mean that all my students can have success in finalizing a published product.
Giving students with diverse abilities access to print is affording them the opportunity to shine as effective communicators.
This technology will give them the confidence and reassurance they need to prepare them to read the world as well as their words.
