My Students
My class consists of nearly 95% of scholars who are reading below grade level. Many of my students come from homes in which the parents are uneducated themselves.
Our school is a Title I school that offers free and reduced-price lunches to 100% of our students.
School lunch is the only meal many of our students receive during the day. Our school is in a critical state. We are a part of the lowest 300 schools in terms of reading proficiency.
My Project
In my classroom, I love for my students to think of learning as a fun and exciting experience. Sitting and listening to lectures all day does not work for students. Students need hands-on learning and movement throughout the day. By bringing excitement into the classroom, students are more engaged and willing to get up and give "learning" a try! By having an interactive board students will be able to be active participants in each and every lesson. They are more willing to make mistakes and this leads to learning. Having an interactive whiteboard will assist in bringing exciting interactive activities into my classroom. These interactive materials will contribute to student success within my classroom.
Everyone loves to be rewarded for being awesome, no matter how small the reward may seem.
We all remember the exciting trip to the treasure chest! I want to offer rewards for students who have put forth their best efforts in the classroom. Help fill a treasure chest with rewards and treats.
